UPDATE 4/29/24: The planned water shutdown on 4/25 was abandoned due to a nearby water break; crews and efforts were diverted to repair the broken main and restore water to customers on Richard Dr. Crews are now expected to perform the planned water service interruption on WEDNESDAY, MAY 1st, beginning around 9:00am. Preparations are underway now. The details of the service interruption described below are still accurate, excluding the date.

4/23/24: A significant water service interruption is planned for Thursday, April 25th. This shutdown is the result of weeks of preparation and marks a key milestone in the progression of the underground utility replacement phase of the project. The shutdown is required to drain a 16-inch potable water transmission main that travels the length of Aquarius Place through the intersection with North College Drive. Two critical tasks will be performed while this water main is out of service: 1) the constructions of a temporary water connection that will allow service to be restored along the North College Drive and 2) the replacement of a broken water valve located at Oak Drive and Florida Road.

It very difficult to anticipate the exact hours that service will be interrupted for each residential address. That said, the duration of the shutdown will be limited to the shortest amount of time possible. It is anticipated that customers along North College Drive, Aquarius Place, and Willow Place will be the first to experience a drop in water system pressure, beginning as early as 9:00AM. Customers along Oak Drive and Elm Place can expect to notice the disruption several hours later, beginning as early as 11:00AM. The project aims to have water service restored within 4-6 hours maximum, but please understand that not all variables can be accounted for.

Customers are advised to fill containers ahead of time to have household water available during the shutdown. When water service returns it is recommended customers flush their COLD taps until the water runs clear and cold. If you have water quality inquiries, contact the Water Treatment Plant at 970-375-4887. Sanitary sewer service should not be impacted by the shutdown.

We anticipate that traffic will be limited to one-way alternating traffic with flaggers stationed at North College Drive and Aquarius Place. Please anticipate delays and make alternative travel arrangements if possible. Residences located within the periphery of the work sites will be permitted access to their homes while construction is ongoing.
